Cover = Promise
The Cover is a promise.
The cover of a book is a promise of what awaits inside. I’ve never been a fan of having a cover artist with a completely different style of the interior artist. It feels like a bait and switch. That said, I had to bring in some help to get my book cover done. I have a 12 page story to color, a 30 page story to edit and letter, a 21 page story to letter, and graphics to create and update on my FMC page. So, yeah, I needed help. My 2nd excuse (because I’m trying to convince myself it’s ok to ask for help) is that Tricks and Treats is an anthology, so there’s not one artistic style throughout the book. So having another artist come along and help with the cover should’nt be jarring.
So we had Preston Asevedo come along and lend his talents for the cover, and he did an amazing job.
All I had to do was come in and not ruin it. So here is the reveal of the cover.
So back to what I was saying. A cover is a promise of what awaits inside. Here is a peak!
